Our Fruit & Vegetable Boxes

We have a range of different fruit and vegetable boxes to choose from, all available for regular or one-off orders.  One of the great features of our new ordering system is the ability to switch or pause veg boxes for any week, as many times as you like up to three months in advance, so you really can experiment and find the size and frequency that suits you.   it's also possible to customise your order further with extras helpings of staple organic vegetables and selected items of fresh organic fruit.

These are 'Seasonal' veg boxes so the contents will change from week to week, season to season, throughout the year. We grow a huge range of crops and always switch-up the contents to make sure your veg box never gets boring.

This is our current range of boxes.  Click on the box to see a description and a sample of what you might expect to find inside.  If you have any other questions about how the system works, take a look at our Help and FAQ section.

The price does not include the home delivery charge, which is £1 (per delivery, however many items you choose) but delivery to one of our city-wide collection points is free.

Small Organic Vegetable Box

Suitable for:  one or two people.

Price: £10

A weekly favourite with many of our customers and our most popular vegetable box.    This box contains 7 or 8 varieties of fresh, organic vegetables.  It always includes staples such as potatoes, carrots and onions (of course you can always omit these in favour of something else if you'd prefer) and a range of whatever else is in season and ready in the field.  If we have a glut of fresh herbs like basil or parsley we sometimes include a bunch as a bonus item too.

To give you some idea, a typical summer box would look like this:

  • 1kg new potatoes
  • 1 bunch carrots (approx 500g)
  • 3 - 4 fresh onions (green tops on)
  • 1 Green Lettuce
  • 250g french beans or 200g sugar-snap peas
  • 450g Calabrese (Broccoli)
  • 350g Spinach or Swiss Chard
  • 400g Tomatoes

and a more Autumn-Wintery box could contain the following:

  • 1kg potatoes
  • 500g carrots
  • 500g onions
  • 1 Red Kuri Squash
  • 600g Leeks
  • 1 Cauliflower
  • 350g Cavolo Nero (black kale)

Large Organic Vegetable Box

Suitable for:  two to four people and vegetable lovers!

Price: £18.50

This vegetable box contains fourteen to sixteen items and - amongst our customers - it is no secret that it represents extraordinary value for money with an amazing range of ever changing varieties and colour.  As with the £10 box it always includes onions but, in this case, also a double helping of carrots and potatoes.  Again, you may always choose to omit any or all of these staples in favour of something else.   The rest of the box comprises whatever else is fresh and ready in the field.  If we have a glut of fresh herbs like basil or parsley, we sometimes include a bunch as a bonus item too.

A typical summer box might look like this:

  • 2kg New Potatoes
  • 2 bunches of carrots (approx 1kg)
  • 1 bunch fresh onions (green tops on)
  • 1 Green lettuce
  • 150g rocket
  • 350g Spinach or Swiss Chard
  • 250g of french beans or 200g sugar snap peas
  • 400g tomatoes
  • 1 punnet cherry tomatoes
  • 450g calabrese (broccoli)
  • 1 bunch fresh beetrot (tops on)
  • 1 round summer cabbage
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cauliflower

In the winter it becomes slightly more difficult to maintain the diversity so occasionally we will double up on one or two of the more popular items:

  • 2kg Potatoes
  • 1kg Carrots
  • 500g White Onions
  • 500g Red Onions
  • 1 Red Kuri Squash
  • 600g Leeks
  • 1 Cauliflower
  • 350g Cavolo Nero (black kale)
  • 1 red cabbage
  • 500g beetroot
  • 400g brussel sprouts
  • 350g purple-sprouting broccoli
  • 1 or 2 Aubergines (Spain)
  • 500g Courgettes (Spain)

Mixed Organic Fruit and Vegetable Box

Suitable for:  one to two people

With a foot in both camps, this box contains a great balance of fruit and veg for those who might find the full size fruit bag too much to manage.  The Mixed Box comprises 6 to 7 varieties of fresh organic vegetables as well as a bag of 3 items of organic fruit. As with the £10 box it always includes staples like potatoes, carrots and onions.  Again, you may always choose to omit any or all of these staples in favour of something else.

Free Range Eggs

Price: £1.50

A very popular addition to our veg boxes - Each box contains half a dozen fresh orange-yolked eggs from the free-range chickens who are free to roam in our paddock.

Our customers often comment about how superior these eggs are -  in taste, colour and texture - to the standard supermarket eggs, which may have already been refridgerated for many days before reaching the shelves.

Please note, these eggs are free-range but not organic (if you'd like to know more please see question 7 in our FAQ section). We feel that the hens live a happy life, on a diet of high quality grain feed supplemented with left-over leafy green vegetables from the farm

-  they love Pac Choi !
